Calgary Alberta is a fun and beautiful city, located on the banks
of the Bow River. Calgary is also close to the spectacular Rocky Mountains. Calgary has an emerging gay scene, and Albertans
like to have fun. Here you'll find gay Calgary listings for Calgary gay bars, Calgary gay bath houses, gay friendly accommodation in Calgary, and more.
The biggest event of the year in Calgary is the Calgary Stampede, which features
a rodeo, a midway (amusement park), concerts, chuckwagon races and more. The event
attracts visitors from around the world. Stampede 2008 runs from July 6-15.
Gay Calgary also celebrates an annual Gay Rodeo, the Canadian Rockies International Rodeo organized by the
Alberta Rockies Gay Rodeo Association. The next Canadian Rockies International Rodeo
takes place June 29-July 1, 2008.
Alberta has a reputation of being a little more conservative than the rest of Canada,
particularly regarding the subject of Gay Marriage. Gay Calgary's scene,
however, is fun and friendly, and you should be very comfortable spending time
there.
